My Shy Little Poodle Turned Into a Celebrity on a Holiday Walk

After spending the whole Chuseok holiday in the kitchen, my husband and kids finally made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
(Chuseok is Korea's big harvest holiday, a bit like Thanksgiving. And yes, it usually means a lot of cooking.)
"Mom, you must be exhausted. Stay home and rest! We'll take Jet out for some fresh air."
As an INFP, staying home and doing absolutely nothing on my own is pretty much my idea of a perfect holiday. So I happily waved them off. Even Jet, our youngest, went along, so it was a true solo vacation for me. π
We have a mint-green convertible as our second car, and with the weather finally cooling down, my husband and the kids, who had come down from Seoul for the holiday, had a perfect day out with the top down.
A peaceful break, and then the updates started
Once everyone left, I made myself an iced coffee and soaked up the quiet. That lasted for about five minutes. Then photos and videos from my husband started arriving one after another.
They were updates on the family and Jet, and I couldn't stop laughing.
Out on their walk, Jet was apparently so cute that people stopped in their tracks and surrounded him. Thanks to that silver toy poodle charm, an impromptu fan meeting broke out right there on the trail.
Some people had never seen a silver poodle before. One person asked if he'd been dyed, and another insisted he must be a Bichon because he didn't look like a poodle at all.

A born celebrity? Jet's surprising side
My family was even more surprised, because they know Jet's usual personality. He's a classic example of what Koreans jokingly call "gang-yak-yak-gang": tough with the small, timid with the big. π
When he meets kittens or dogs smaller than him, he puffs up and barks like the bravest dog in the world. But the moment he meets a slightly bigger friend, he switches to ultra-shy mode and dives into his big sister's arms.
But that day, for some reason, he was completely different. Instead of hiding, he walked right up to people and showed off his friendliest side. The crowd kept saying, "How is this dog so friendly and affectionate?"
Hearing all this from home, I couldn't help laughing. Maybe our Jet was a celebrity all along.
To be honest, I see him every day, so I'd started taking his cuteness for granted. He's just our youngest. But after seeing his popularity, I've decided he deserves a little more VIP treatment. Jet, I promise to worship your cuteness properly from now on. πΆ

The end of a happy holiday
My husband and daughter went out so their homebody mom could rest, and somehow, Jet ended up having the adventure of the day. By the time the
y came home, my holiday fatigue had pretty much disappeared.
I hope you enjoyed Jet's little online fan meeting too. π€
